Model 77S
Our Model 77S is a generic version of the expensive Doulton
countertop vessel. In fact, we hate to say this because we're big
Doulton fans, but it's really a more practical and user-friendly
unit than the Doulton. Our Model 77s is available with a genuine Doulton
candle for less than half what you would pay for the Doulton
original. Performance is identical, and we think our generic 77S
looks better. No gaudy decals.
To clarify, what you're getting is an actual Doulton cartridge (the part that does the filtering) in our
generic vessel. See the
cartridge
list for other cartridges available for this model. (For
everyday use with city tap water, the PB1s and KX1s are your best
choices.)
Unlike the standard Model 77, the 77S uses screw-in cartridges
usually called "candles" in the industry. 77S is more
compact and the life expectancy of its replaceable filter
cartridges is a little shorter. Fewer cartridge styles are
available than with the full-sized Model 77.
The 77S is a lightweight unit that travels well. It's a
great everyday filter, a fine travel filter, and an all-around
great performer.
This style is available only in white.
Please note that all countertop units come equipped with
filter cartridges. You don't need to order replacements
when you order the unit, but you can save shipping charges if you
do.
